The Greater San Diego
Charitable Foundation (“The Fund”) has established a Community Scholarship fund
to further it’s mission of empowering and promoting LGBT businesses,
professionals and supportive members of the community.
Each Year the Fund
will attempt to award at least two educational scholarships of up to $2,000
each, to the most qualified candidates. GSDBA seeks diverse awardees from the
applicants.
The scholarships are
granted to self-identified LGBT students and persons who have shown
support and knowledge of the LGBT community.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet
the following criteria to be eligible for the GSDBA Scholarship Fund:
· Permanent
resident of San Diego County.
· Have
clear and purposeful educational goals.
· Have
demonstrated sensitivity to and acceptance of the dignity and human rights of
all individuals.
· A
self-identified LGBT or supportive member of the community.
· Have
demonstrated financial needs.
· Not
a family member or relative of an existing GSDBA or Charitable Foundation Board
Member or staff.
· Submit
a complete application packet by the deadline.
· Comply
with time frames set in this application.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Complete
application packet.
All applications and
attachments must be typed on a blank 8½” x 11” paper.
Application packets must contain the following.
· Completed
application
· Transcripts
· Responses
to essay questions
· Copy
of letter of acceptance and/or proof of enrollment from an accredited college,
university or vocational school.
· 2
letters of recommendation
· It
is important that answers to all questions be clear and concise.
2. Submit
completed application packet:

applications must be postmarked by May 31st of the year of
application.
