The Greater San Diego Business Association (GSDBA) Foundation provides scholarships and mentoring to outstanding LGBT students and LGBT community student allies. The GSDBA Foundation also provides resources to the LGBT community through its Scholar Community Project Initiative.

Each year, applicants for GSDBA Foundation scholarships represent the best of the San Diego community.  These students pursue a host of disciplines within community colleges, vocational schools and universities within California and beyond.  They have demonstrated academic success, as well as exceptional leadership qualities, often overcoming significant obstacles because they are members of or supporters of the LGBT community. GSDBA Scholars are succeeding and are a key component of campus life at their respect schools.

Each GSDBA Scholar is asked to develop and implement a project within the LGBT community that helps advance LGBT equality.  Through these projects, GSDBA Scholars are partnered with mentors to help in project development and to ensure a successful implementation.  Mentors are successful members of the LGBT community who are successful in their respective fields.  Our mentors include lawyers, doctors, business owners, elected government officials, as well as corporate and non-profit employees. Our hope is for GSDBA Foundation Mentors to build rewarding, professional relationships and serve as exemplary role models for the organization’s scholars.

Our GSDBA Foundation Scholars are the next generation of leadership within the San Diego LGBT community and beyond.
